Prepare For EMM Integration

Before integrating Appthority MTP with an EMM using the EMM Connector, consider the various users who have specific roles during deployment. Additional preparation is listed in a handy EMM Connector Deployment Checklist.

Deployment Roles and Functions

There are several roles involved in deploying the EMM Connector, depending on how your organization divides relevant tasks. Some roles may be combined in your organization. It's important to understand who is responsible for each function.

  • Appthority Administrator: The Appthority Admin is an Appthority employee who manages your Appthority MTP Cloud environment.
  • Organization Administrator: The Org Admin is the highest-level role in a customer account. The Appthority Admin will assign the Org Admin role to the person in your company who is responsible for configuring and managing your Appthority MTP application, its users, and its integration with an EMM.
  • EMM Administrator: This role provides the API key and an authenticated user name and password to access the EMM.
  • Network Administrator (For on-premises EMM only): The IT Network Administrator opens the port and handles IP addresses.
  • Systems Administrators (For on-premises connector deployments only): The user who deploys and manages virtual machines and OS environments for the company.
    • Virtual Server Administrator: User who deploys the EMM Connector on a VM Appliance.
    • RedHat Linux Administrator: User who deploys a Docker instance on an existing RedHat environment.
    • Docker Administrator: User who deploys the EMM Connector on a Docker instance.
